Morning Beauties

“Morning Beauties” is a special work to me, because it witnessed the process of me being burnout last summer and gradually recovering in the fall. A very small picture but it took more than 3 months to paint because of the pause in between. I wanted to create something beautiful that reminds me of one’s own resilience and courage. So “Morning Beauties” came into life with two elegant white lotus on bathing in the sunlight. Lotuses have always been the symbol of calm, serenity and inner strength in Vietnamese culture with the direct connection with zen and buddhism.
